Strutt & Parker was founded in 1885 by the partnership of Edward Gerald Strutt and Charles Alfred Parker to provide estate management services. Rural estate management has been part of our core business ever since. Today, the department is headed up by Nick Watson and it provides services covering all aspects of land management, farm management, minerals, planning and accountancy. The department operates across the length and breadth of the UK with representation in Strutt & Parker's 51 offices nationwide, employing over 150 professional staff.
The Land Management Department is backed up by a specialist research group led by Ross Houlden, whose responsibility it is to assemble legal and technical briefings, case Law and relevant case studies, together with comparable evidence, in 25 fields of expertise. Each of these fields is managed by one of Strutt & Parker’s surveyors. The resulting knowledge base is computerised and held on the firm’s intranet and is accessible from every consultants desk.
